" Once, I was in the bus and someone from the bus asked me out of curiosity. A young man returned his head to me and asked me a question. A question is:
" Are you really a taoist?(你真的是一個道教嗎?)"
He probably asked me, because seing me wearing my training taoist suit. Normally this kind of question is a bit not correct. But still I gave him an answer, thinking that this can be a good opportunity to educate in taoism.
So, I asked him: "If you asked me such question, you must know what is taoism."
And he said: "No." Then, I didn't give him a criticism for asking such question.
And my answer is: " Somehow I am, somehow I am not."
I gave him a no and a yes answer, I am quite honest. If I say, " I am a taoist," you don't know.
So, I said to him on the one hand, I am not and on the other, I am. Because most of the case, the taoist are those people, who are staying in the temple, monastery, more religious people. In this sense, I am not like them, because I am not a monk.
However, I am a taoist, because when we talk about taoism, there is actually a philosophy and religion. Taoism, as a philosophy, started earlier as religion. Taoist philosophy started 2500 years ago, when Lao Tzu met by Yi Jing, who gave him a philosophical book, which was the "kingdom" of the wisdom. So, I am a taoist, PHILOSOPHICAL TAOIST.
As taoists(religious and philosophical), we have three levels. The lower level is type of taoists, who burn incenses. The middle level is type of taoist, who cultivate tao. The top level, they spread tao. I have been spreading taoism culture, not online in China, but abroad, as well. So, do you think, I am a taoist?
After he heard this, he said that I am a highly taoist. And then I started to speak with him more. Finally, I had to get off the bus, and he and other people gave me a round of applauses...
